MasterFEM features a comprehensive design sensitivity and optimisation capability. It is possible to design for a variety of user-defined objectives such as minimum weight. This seminar covers the theoretical and practical aspects of MasterFEM design sensitivity and optimisation-emphasis is placed on using the program to solve practical engineering problems. I-DEAS MasterFEM also offers a user-friendly Fatigue and Durability analysis suite. In the later half of this course, we will cover Fatigue and Durability using I-DEAS MasterFEM.
Relevance
Optimisation helps reduce costs of the system.Fatigue and Durability are necessary for predicting life and performance of components undergoing cyclical loading. These are usually factored-in using a higher factor of safety. Using the Durability suite, it is possible to get more reliable results, thus aiding optimization of the system.
