This training session introduces basic finite element analysis techniques for linear static and normal modes analysis of structures using I-DEAS MasterFEM. FEA basics and techniques are discussed and illustrated with examples and workshops.
Relevance
This session will be a useful and necessary starting point for designers and engineers starting out on FEA. At the end of this training, engineers will be able to carry out basic (static and normal) analysis. This will take care of a majority of basic applications of FEA.Course Content
- Introduction to finite element theory
- Introduction to finite element modeling
- Model generation and verification
- Linear static analysis
- Normal modes analysis
- Post Processing
- Tips and basic best practices
Prerequisites
- No previous finite element analysis or computer-based modeling experience is required
- A basic knowledge of statics and strength of materials is highly recommended
